Badges? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Badges.

Rightly or wrongly, the FPV community has long been seen as the misfits of the RC aircraft world; and while FPV is steadily going mainstream, at NAFPV 2015 there was still a palpable sense of "this is not your grandfather's RC event."

As FPV racers in multicopter, spec wing, and fixed wing forms buzzed around a low-altitude course in thrilling fashion, the FireFLY6 DIY 25 stayed (mostly) above the rough-and-tumble, allowing us to flex the muscle of our new Payload Mount Kit equipped with the FY-G3 Ultra 3-axis Brushless Gimbal. Staying true to their fun-loving nonconformist roots, the NAFPV crew generated some great media coverage while questioning fears about (and lamenting the negative connotations of) the "d-word." See here, here and here.
